PHCC’s CONNECT 2012 Positions Plumbing and HVACR Contractors To “Accelerate Impact” as They Face Rapid Changes, New Regulations
July 5, 2012 - In this rebounding economy, the plumbing and HVACR industry is facing many changes, including new requirements for lead-free plumbing products, more pressure to recruit and retain the most talented and motivated employees, new energy efficiency standards, increased opportunities for whole building retrofits, and – with four different generations working side-by-side for the first time in history – a demand for strategies that drive results across generations.
To help contractors prepare for this new landscape, the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors—National Association (PHCC) has packed CONNECT 2012, set for Oct. 3-5 at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown Hotel, with an incredible line-up of ideas and tactics that are sure to help attendees break through these challenges—and accelerate their businesses.
Keynote speaker and award-winning entrepreneur Jason Dorsey will kick off the conference with insightful ways to leverage generational strengths and differences to drive bottom-line results. A comprehensive series of educational sessions will help attendees explore emerging markets, such as whole-building retrofit, and provide fresh approaches to consumer marketing, entrepreneurship and managing family businesses. PHCC also will debut its new water audit certification program for plumbing contractors. And, a crucial part of the program will be devoted to helping contractors prepare for both the new lead-free plumbing laws and the new Department of Energy standards for residential water heaters and boilers they’ll soon be facing.
CONNECT’s Product & Technology Showcase also will provide an intimate setting where contractors, manufacturers and other vendors can learn and exchange ideas about products, technologies and advancements in the plumbing and HVACR industry.
“We’re pleased to report that CONNECT attendees always come away with time-tested principles and new technologies that enhance their businesses, but this year we realize it’s especially critical to provide them with tools and strategies that will prepare them for all the changes and new regulations this industry is facing,” says PHCC President Keith Bienvenu. “CONNECT 2012 is definitely designed with them in mind, and this strategically planned program is sure to help these contractors accelerate impact as they move toward the future.”
The site of this year’s CONNECT conference is historic Philadelphia. The host hotel – the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown – is in the heart of America’s original capital, with a wealth of historical, culinary and cultural landmarks within a short walk or cab ride.
